LXVI. The sacrament of marriage is only an accessory to the

. contract, and separable from it ; and the sacrament itself consists in the nuptial benediction alone.
LXVIL The bond of matrimony is not indissoluble by the law of nature ; and in various cases divorce, properly so called, may be sanctioned by the civil authority.
