Chapter 31

III. ^ 1 John V. 7. For there are

three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the W >rd, and the Holy Ghost ; and these three are one, Pvlat iii. IG. And Jesu?, when he was baptized, went up straight- way out of the water ; and, lo.
the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of Cod descending like a dove, and lighting upon him. Ver. 17. And, lo, a voice from heaven, saying, 'i'his is my bL-loved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Mat. xxviii. 1 9. Go ye therefore and teach all na- tions, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. 2 Cor. xiii. 14. The grace of the Lord Jesu» Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
P John i. 14. And the Word was made flesh, and dw..'lt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grate and truth. Ver. 13. No hian hath seen God at any time; the only begot- ten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

CHAP. III. Of God's Eternal Decree,
/^ OD from all eternity did, by the most wise and holy ^^ counsel of his own will, freely and unchangeably or- dain whatsoever comes to pass^: yet so, as thereby neither is God the author of sin^, nor is violence offered to the will of the creatures, nor is the liberty or contingency of second causes taken away, but rather established ^ I II.
