Chapter 27
I. '"^Deut. VI. 4.' Hear, O Israel ;

As concerning there- fore the eating of those- things thait are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we kuowthat an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one. Verse 6. But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and vv-e in him ; and one Lord Jcsu* Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying, in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness ©f men. Ver. 15. And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things ? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you, that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein.
