I. *Tit. ii. 14. Who gave himself

for us, that he might redeem us from all ini«]uity, and purify unto himself a peculiar jieople, zealous of good works. 1 'I'hess. i. 10. And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come- Gal. iii. 1.*]. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us : for it is written. Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.

the evil of afflictions, the sting of death, the victory of the grave, and everlasting damnation ""; as also in their free ac- cess to God'^, and their yielding obedience unto him, not out of slavish fear, but a child-like love, and willing mind ^ All which were common also to believers under the law ^ ; but under the new testament, the liberty of Christians is further enlarged in their freedom from the yoke of the ceremonial law, to which the Jewish church was subjected '^, and in
