CHAP. XI. Of Justification.
'"pHOSE whom God effectually calleth he also freely -*■ justifieth'; not by infusing righteousness into them, but by pardoning their sins, and by accounting and accept- ing their persons as righteous : not for any thing wrought in them, or done by them, but for Christ^s sake alone : not by imputing faith itself, the act of believing, or any other evangelical obedience, to them as their righteousness ; but by imputing the obedience and satisfaction of Christ ynto them '', they receiving and resting on him and his

t 2 John, ver. 9. Whosoever tranS- jrresseth, and abideth not in the iioctrine of Christ, hath not God : lie that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. Ver. 10. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed. Ver. 11. For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil tieeds. 1 Cor. xvi. 22. If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema JManinutha. Gal. j. 6.
