Evelyn (in his Discourse of Medals) describes Bacon with "a spacious
Forehead and piercing Eye, always (as he had been told by one that knew
him well) looking upwards, as a soul in sublime contemplation." Osborn
(in the second part of his Advice to his Son), writes : " His majcstical carriage
struck an awful reverence in those he questioned."
