Chapter 93

VIII. A Lodge has the rigid to exclude a member,

on cause shown, temporarily or permanently , from the Lodge. This right, which may be exercised either by suspension or expulsion, or by simply striking from the roll, is of so important a nature, and is controlled by so many qualifying regulations of the Grand Lodge and the Ancient Constitutions, which direct or restrict the excluding power, that I shall postpone the discussion of the subject until, in a subsequent part of this work, I come to the con- sideration of Masonic punishments.
