His works are then indicated with full titles, and of each a summary or an analysis is given in smaller type. The work comprises mineralogy, geology, chemistry, metallurgy and kindred topics. Its clear typography and excellent arrangement make it a model. A new edition brought . down to date would be welcome. A full subject-index makes it prac- tically useful.
