An interesting volume, considering the date and the country of its issue. The history of chemistry is followed by chronological tables of history up to 1695, and by a bibliography bearing the special title : Collezione scelta di libri d'argomento chimico ad uso degli amatori. This begins with Borrichius and other historians, and treats in separate sections of general treatises, physical, mineralogical, and pharmaceutical chemistry. The work contains a supplement giving heads of a course of twenty lectures by Moscati delivered in the Laboratory of the " Spedal Maggiore. "
